Royal Naval Museum
Subject Specialist in Modern Naval History

In September 2010 the National Museum of the Royal Navy in Portsmouth was awarded a Stage 1 pass by the Heritage Lottery Fund for its project – ‘Telling the Story of the Royal Navy and its People in the 20th and 21st Centuries’. The Museum now wishes to appoint a subject specialist in Modern Naval History to play a key role as it develops its exhibitions and programmes for this new gallery development due to open in early 2014. This will be a joint appointment with the University of Portsmouth and the postholder will spend 0.3 of the post working with the School of Social, Historical and Literary Studies (SSHLS) on a variety of research and teaching projects.

Download more information about the post and an application form here.
For an informal discussion from 4th January, please contact Matthew Sheldon on 023 9272 7577 or e-mail matthew.sheldon@nmrn.org.uk

Closing date for applications is 14th January 2011.

If you have not heard from the Museum by 28th January 2011, please assume that you have not been successful on this occasion.  The Museum is an equal rights employer.
