Now is your opportunity to tell the US Army Corps of Engineers how you would do it.

To assist USACE in planning how this work may be performed, this Request for Information (RFI) is being issued to seek input from industry regarding two courses of action (COA) for removing the casemate sections and artifacts from their current locations.

COA 1 will address how to efficiently recover the two large casemate sections intact, archaeologically document each section, recover all cultural materials that reside underneath those sections and materials that are immediately adjacent to the casemates, and reburial of the west casemate and selected materials in a pre-determined location in Back River (approximately 1.5 miles from the wreck site).

COA 2 will address efficient removal of the casemate sections without archaeological documentation, recovery of cultural materials that reside underneath those sections and are immediately adjacent to the casemates, and reburial of both casemates and selected materials in a pre-determined location in Back River.

Request for Information is due: April 12
